Thirteen years the planning and flying of the CELEBRATION of HONOR FLY has been going on. For the pilots who have given so fully of their time and equipment, a huge amount of gratitude to you is given. For those who will jump on the band wagon this year to come and fly with us, many thanks in advance. We think you will have fun meeting some really great guys and gals.
Again this year we are partnering with Operation TBI (traumatic brain injury) Freedom and SCI, a military outreach program. Fifty plus soldiers and significant others are expected to participate. The plan is to fly everyone Saturday 27 July with a back-up day Sunday the 28th.
The soldiers are important and the reason for our event. We do not, however, take the importance of the balloonists lightly as without you there would be no CELEBRATION of HONOR FLY. Fifteen balloons is the number being sought to add to those already committed to the soldiers. So many balloon events are planned Summertime, it is obvious that all who want to participate cannot, but we appreciate your good thoughts.
Some of you have retired from ballooning but have contacts we do not with those who have not. Please pass this information on to them.
To join the fun this July 27th, contact Jackie Peterson, 719-634-5012 or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also sign up by going to the Celebration Of Honor Fly Facebook page. We look forward to your participation.
